Fall Athletics Wrap Up

The Flag Football boys showed continuous energy and effort throughout the whole season. Coach DeGennaro was proud of how the boys overcame adversity many times - When situations were tough and the games were close, the boys would pick each other up and get to the next play. The boys were split into two or three teams depending on the school we were competing against. Our A team finished with 3 wins and 2 close losses to Dalton. Our other team ended on a positive note with a win and a tie in their last two games.

The 2023 Varsity Soccer season was a memorable one! After a slow start, the boys came back to practice ready to work on aspects of the game that led to victories later in the season. The boys demonstrated hard work, determination, teamwork, responsibility, and respect.

Our most exhilarating games came in a hard-fought 2-0 victory versus Trinity as well as a thrilling tie against Buckley! Using the tactics, skills, and style of play we worked on all season long, this year’s team showed tremendous work ethic, a respect for the game, their opponents, and the officials. A great sense of camaraderie and school spirit along with wonderful support from our parent group made this a special season.

The 2023 Cross Country season was electric. A-S athletes put in 3 to 4 miles of practice daily, all while pushing each other to improve. While Cross Country is deemed an “individual” sport, each athlete worked together to drive one another to a better time and stronger finish. 80% of the team set personal bests in the final meet, with 50% improving at every meet. William B., Eddie S., and Atri M. all medaled at the Championship and led the charge to A-S having one of their best seasons by far.

Winter is here! Come out and support the boys as they hit the mats and the court for another exciting season of A-S athletics. Defending Manhattan Private Middle School League Champs, Varsity Basketball, looks to defend its title and our Wrestling team returns with a blend of experienced and first-year wrestlers.
