Cross Country comes out of the gates strong!
The team had their first meet of the season at Van Cortlandt Park. In a field of 164 runners from 16 schools, Allen-Stevenson placed two boys in the top thirty. Edward Stavros led the team with a very impressive fourth-place finishing time of 9:56.18.

The remainder of the team had strong finishes with some personal bests on the 1.5-mile course. This Thursday, October 5, the Blue and Gold take on another strong field of runners as they continue their quest for yet one more successful season.

Football opened their season with a split against league opponent St. David’s. Game one saw a dominant A-S squad pass their way to an impressive 21-12 victory. Game two was a battle of impressive defensive play with both teams making important stops throughout the game. While our boys lost the game 6-7, they entered the next game with a better sense of their strengths and weaknesses and thus better prepared for success.

Varsity Soccer has opened the season with back-to-back losses (St. David’s 2-3, Dalton 2-3). Both games were extremely competitive ones in which either team could have won. Spirits remain high as they prepare for yet another strong league opponent in St. Bernard’s on October 5.
J.V. Soccer lost to St. David’s on September 26, 0-3, but, regained their focus and confidence against a solid Dalton team. With the game tied 0-0 for most of the first and second half, a late goal in the final minute by Dalton left the team with a 0-1 loss. They hope to grab their first win against St. Bernard’s on October 5.
