On Saturday, April 15, our fifth-grade Odyssey of the Mind team competed in Syracuse, New York, against 17 teams from around the state of New York. Since September, this team has worked hard to create a vehicle that must solve specific problems while creating a script, team song, props, costumes, and scenery. The boys learned to work together, listen to each other, and respond respectfully toward one another and others. The state judges even commented on how well the boys worked as a team and represented their school. These boys were excellent ambassadors for Allen-Stevenson, and it is apparent our fifth-grade boys are young men who show respect, determination, responsibility, thoughtfulness, and creativity, all traits we can be proud of!
